THURSDAY, JUNE 13 · 9:30 - 15:00│NEW CENTURY, MANCHESTER, M4 4AH

Festival of Enterprise

Back by popular demand! Festival of Enterprise returns in 2024 after the resounding success of the 2022 event! Mark your calendars for Wednesday 13th June, 9.30am to 3pm at the vibrant New Century venue in the heart of Manchester City Centre.

On Thursday 29th September, more than 60 freelancers and self-employed business owners joined EnterprisingYou at the Autumn Networking Event at Clockwise, Manchester.

A team of expert business coaches, finance specialists and training providers were on hand to talk to guests about the support, workshops and other opportunities that are available through the EnterprisingYou programme.

Guests also had the chance to network with current and former EnterprisingYou clients, to find out more about the programme and their experiences.

I couldn’t be happier with the journey I’ve been on, it’s been emotional and personal, and I just feel like EnterprisingYou has made my dream become a reality.
Claire Connelly, Don’t Burst My Bubble

One of the current EnterprisingYou clients who shared her experience at the event is Claire Connelly, who grew her business Don’t Burst My Bubble earlier this year with the help of EnterprisingYou, delivering art classes and workshops to individuals, businesses and communities.

She said: “The resources you get access to are amazing, the courses are so thorough, and all the business coaches are friendly and approachable, I look forward to my regular catch ups with my coach. Even though I’m coming to the end of my journey on EnterprisingYou, I can still attend networking events to get my brand out there and connect with people who are doing similar things to me.”

Guests had the opportunity to take part in free taster workshops, covering a variety of topics including sales, marketing, social media, and self-awareness with some of the EnterprisingYou’s training providers.

Yvonne Sampson, Programme Manager of EnterprisingYou, said: “We are passionate about supporting the self-employed and we understand it can be a lonely space when you’re working for yourself. Therefore, we organise events like this to allow our new, present and past clients to expand their networks and connections as well as to find new businesses or collaborations.

People can sign up for the EnterprisingYou programme for free. We are very lucky to have such an all-around and fully funded support programme in the Greater Manchester region.

Business coach Adam Butcher said: “Events like this are brilliant for meeting existing clients who have gone through the programme and can advocate for what we’ve helped them to achieve.

“There’s nothing else out there like EnterprisingYou in terms of support for clients. Some clients are looking for targeted and specific support, and some are looking for somebody who can listen to what they’re trying to do and give them ideas. We really understand what our clients are trying to achieve and come up with a plan on how we can support them.”

Guests also took part in a raffle competition to win a free 1:1 podcast consultation, worth £500, with Vic Turnbull, founder of MIC Media.

The winner was children’s entertainer and former EnterprisingYou client Lucy Wilkinson, also known as Louby Lou. Lucy had the chance to work with podcasting expert Vic to create a plan for her series Louby Lou’s Cheeky Chats and produce a trailer.

Speaking about the experience, Lucy said: “We had a piece of paper and we brainstormed and let the ideas flow. We came up with Louby Lou’s Cheeky Chats, a full script and a trailer all in just two hours!

“I loved Vic’s energy, she put me at ease, and she just brings out the best in you. It’s all about connections and that’s what these networking events are about, people connecting with each other and making things happen.”

EnterprisingYou provide fully funded support to the self-employed and gig economy workers across Greater Manchester. If you would like to find out more about EnterprisingYou, register online or email info@enterprising-you.co.uk.
